iPhone 4 mit Bob und Mobile Hotspot

Das neue iOS (4.3 bzw. 4.3.1) bietet jetzt auch die Möglichkeit eines mobilen Hotspots.

Da ich in letzter Zeit vermehrt Anfragen bekommen habe, ob Bob diese Funktion unterstützt, habe ich mal ein paar Screenshots angefügt. Wenn die Netzwerkeinstellungen richtig sind (wie in diesem Post erklärt) dann kann man auch den mobilen Hotspot aktivieren.

Es werden bis zu 5 Geräten unterstützt, wobei ich das persönlich erst mit 3 getestet habe. Sollte in den nächsten Wochen das iPad 2 eintrudeln, kann ich dann auch gleich den Praxistest mit dem iPad machen.

Mit Bob ist man also auf der richtigen Seite, wenn man wenig telefoniert und günstiges mobiles Internet haben möchte. Ach ja, Skype über Bob ist natürlich auch kein Problem.

Update iOS 5 und BOB mit Mobile Hotspot (19.10.2011)

Falls du Probleme hast den mobile hotspot mit iOS 5 zu aktivieren, dann musst du unter Einstellungen – Allgemein – Zurücksetzen – Netzwerkeinstellungen wählen und dann die BOB Daten erneut eingeben. Gegebenenfalls ein mal kurz in den Flugmodus wechseln und dann hast du den Persönlichen Hotspot wieder zur Auswahl. Der Fehler ist bei mir beim Update auf iOS 5 aufgetreten und konnte so umgangen werden und Tethering mit dem Mobilen Hotspot funktioniert jetzt wieder.

Flight Time Calculation for Mikrokopters using Matlab

Hi Guys!

This week Holger wrote a request in the Mikrokopter forum for a tool to calculate the flight time of a Mikrokopter based on basic parameters:

Thrust curve of a Motor (grams over current)
Number of Motors
Mikrokopter Weight without Lipo
Lipo Weight
Lipo Capacity
Payload
Losses
LipoFactor (g per mAh – typical 50-100 g/Ah) – Here is also a nice List from Nabazul from the MK-Forum

With this data it is possible to calculate the flight time.

Also I created very interesting plots of flight time over Lipo capacity and flight time over payload. (It would also be possible to creat a 3D plot with both parameters)

I decided to make the calculation with a little Matlab script (M-File) that you can download here.

Internet Tethering bei iOS 4 und iPhone 3G mit Bob

Gerade iOS4 auf mein iPhone 3G gespielt und abgesehen davon dass das Gerät jetzt so gut wie nicht mehr zu bedienen ist (sehr langsam) hat sich auch der Tethering Button verabschiedet.

Da ich ein unlocked iPhone aus Italien besitze bin ich vor einigen Wochen von A1 auf bob.at umgestiegen und spare nicht nur bares Geld sondern bin auch noch sehr zufrieden damit. Vor allem weil ich jetzt auch noch zusätzlich eine wirklich faire Datenoption habe. (Telefonieren tu ich ja sowieso nicht mehr, wenn dann mache ich einen Skype Anruf)

Bob Tarif im Kurzüberblick

4 Cent in alle Netze
4 Cent pro SMS
4 Euro pro angefangenem GB

Da gibt es ja nichts mehr auszusetzen. Jetzt möchte man jedoch auch noch Internet an seinem Notebook und da hilf einem die Tethering Funktion des iPhones weiter.

Über Bluetooth oder über USB kann man die Internetverbindung des iPhones an das Notebook weiterleiten.

Dazu muss man in den Einstellungen > Allgemein > Netzwerk > Mobiles Datennetzwerk folgende Daten hinterlegen:

Mobile Daten

APN: bob.at
Benutzername: data@bob.at
Kennwort: ppp

Weiter unten im Menü dann bei:

iPhone OS 4.0 Event

Gizmodo and Engadget published the date of introduction of the iPhone OS 4.0 – It’s April 8 (Thursday)
It’s amazing that Apple will release the new OS so close to the iPad launch.

The message from Apple:

Get a sneak peek into the future of iPhone OS

engadget Germany announces the release of the iPhone HD at June 22. At this date the iPhone 3Gs would have its first birthday

If that is true or what will come – We will hear it at thursday.

Apple finally released the iPad!

And – it’s like a biiiig iPod.

OS is based on iPhone OS
All iPhone apps will also run on the iPad – “virtually unmodified”
The iPhone apps can run in a black box in the middle of the screen or by doubling the pixels and fill the screen, but loose resolution
The new SDK for the iPad is released today
Of course, apps from the iPhone can be modified so they are perfect for the iPad
Almost “life-size” virtual keyboard
Synchronize data from PC or MAC
The iPad works in both landscape and portrait mode, like the iPhone. It has a virtual keyboard, access to photo collections, direct access to iTunes’ surfeit of content.
The new iBooks app will allow you to read an purchase eBooks. So Apple is on a collision course with Amazon.

SpeedyWeb goes mobile

Hi guys.

Today I had a security problem with my WordPress Blog. A funny guy thought that he has to reset my WordPress installation.
But no problem – the last backup was loaded within minutes and the Blog was online again.

Good news for all iPhone, Android and smartphone users! – Today SpeedyWeb got an update and is now available over iPhone and other smartphones in a “compact” mobile theme. I hope you enjoy that.
