Sender

Als Fernsteuerung ist die MX16s (35MHz Band) von Graupner im Einsatz, welche später auch noch mit dem Jeti System auf 2,4 GHz umgerüstet werden könnte. Zu beachten ist, daß der Senderakku das erste Mal mit 150 mA über einen Zeitraum von 12 Stunden geladen wird. Um den Sender mit dem Mikrokopter verwenden zu können muss noch auf dem Linken Stick die Feder ausgehängt bzw. montiert werden, damit der Stick nicht selbstständig zurück in die “0-Stellung” gelenkt wird. (Es gibt ja kein Negativ Gas/Pitch beim Mikrokopter, also ist der Stick ganz unten auch Gas Null)

Ladegerät

Als Ladegerät ist das ULTRAMAT 14 plus von Graupner in Verwendung welches mit jeglichen Akkutypen zurecht kommt. (Senderakku: NiMH, Flugakku LiPo)

AXI Motoren

Der erste Schritt war die Montage der Motoren. Dazu wurden die LED, Motor und Buzzer Kabel in die jeweiligen Ausleger eingezogen.

Kamerahalterung HiSight II

Zur Erholung nach dem Kabelwirrwarr und hin- und herquetschen der Kabel wurde die Kamerahalterung HiSight II mit Nick- und Rollkompensation zusammengebaut und geklebt.

Montage der Ausleger, FlightCtrl, BlCtrl

Ein weiterer Schritt war die Montage der Ausleger und das sortieren der verschiedensten Anschlusskabel.

Als nächstes wurde die FlightCtrl ME vervollständigt

Nach dem Anlöten der Motor, LED und Buzzer-Kabel an die Elektronik wurde dann noch die NaviCtrl sowie das GPS montiert.

Anschließend ging es ans lackieren der Abdeckhaube, dremeln der Ausnehmungen der Haube und bohren der Befestigungslöcher – fertig ist der HEXA

Natürlich wurde dieser Mikrokopter auch für die kommerzielle Nutzung für Luftbilder und Videos von HiSystems bzw. Holger und Ingo vom Mikrokopter Shop lizenziert.

Da ich ein unlocked iPhone aus Italien besitze bin ich vor einigen Wochen von A1 auf bob.at umgestiegen und spare nicht nur bares Geld sondern bin auch noch sehr zufrieden damit. Vor allem weil ich jetzt auch noch zusätzlich eine wirklich faire Datenoption habe. (Telefonieren tu ich ja sowieso nicht mehr, wenn dann mache ich einen Skype Anruf)

Da gibt es ja nichts mehr auszusetzen. Jetzt möchte man jedoch auch noch Internet an seinem Notebook und da hilf einem die Tethering Funktion des iPhones weiter.

Über Bluetooth oder über USB kann man die Internetverbindung des iPhones an das Notebook weiterleiten.

Dazu muss man in den Einstellungen > Allgemein > Netzwerk > Mobiles Datennetzwerk folgende Daten hinterlegen:

Mobile Daten

• APN: bob.at
• Benutzername: data@bob.at
• Kennwort: ppp

Weiter unten im Menü dann bei:

Internet-Tethering

• APN: bob.at
• Benutzername: data@bob.at
• Kennwort: ppp

Nun sollte im Netzwerkmenü der Button “Internet-Tethering” auftauchen. An dieser Stelle kann man das Tethering ein- und ausschalten. Sollte dieser Button nicht gleich erscheinen, sollte man kurz in den Airplane-Modus wechseln und wieder zurück.

Nachdem man das iPhone über Bluetooth mit dem PC gepaired hat, kann man über den PC eine Internetverbindung mit dem iPhone herstellen ohne es aus der Hosentasche zu nehmen. Dazu muss man einfach nur in der Bluetoothumgebung mit der rechten Maustaste auf das Bluetooth-Symbol klicken und kann sich mit dem iPhone verbinden.

Und schon steht der Internetverbindung am PC nichts mehr im Wege

Gizmodo and Engadget published the date of introduction of the iPhone OS 4.0 – It’s April 8 (Thursday)
It’s amazing that Apple will release the new OS so close to the iPad launch.

The message from Apple:

Get a sneak peek into the future of iPhone OS

engadget Germany announces the release of the iPhone HD at June 22. At this date the iPhone 3Gs would have its first birthday

If that is true or what will come – We will hear it at thursday.

After visiting his homepage I saw a really nice concept for the HD camera mount.

Overall the iPad is a nice Gadget. But in the moment I can not see the practical use of that device (except reading an ebook).

Today I had a security problem with my WordPress Blog. A funny guy thought that he has to reset my WordPress installation.
But no problem – the last backup was loaded within minutes and the Blog was online again.

Good news for all iPhone, Android and smartphone users! – Today SpeedyWeb got an update and is now available over iPhone and other smartphones in a “compact” mobile theme. I hope you enjoy that.

BTW: Today SpeedyWeb got an update of the blogging software WordPress (actual Version 2.8.4). – I finally had the time do do it
The site is now faster and the Lightbox feature is working again (the nice picture popups with buttons to navigate forward and backward in article-pictures). I also installed a nice Google Maps plugin.

So I ordered some evaluation boards (about 100€/pcs) for me and two collegues who are studying with me at the NTB. Our goal is to have fun with wireless applications.

The RN-131 GSX Module is a 802.11 b/g wireless LAN Module with a lot of features – Details see datasheet.

If you already have a GSX Module you can use my LabView source below to show the UDP packets which the module sends in default configuration every 7 seconds.

The packets include

• MAC address of AP
• WiFi-Channel
• RSSI (quality)
• local TCP port
• RTC (real time clock value)
• NTC temperature option (if temperature sensor connected to module – otherwise sensor 7)
• Spare sensor reading
• ASCII time
• Version string with date code and Device ID string

This information can be used to open a TCP connection to the module or to configure it over WiFi. The module has to be in the same subnet as your PC or MAC if you want to receive the packages.

In the last weeks I thought about new projects (beside the Mikrokopter project). So I started to study Objective-C programming by myself to be able to code iPhone applications in future. A good start for doing that is the book “Cocoa Programming For Mac OS X” by Aaron Hillegass.

Because the SPP Bluetooth profile is currently not supported by the iPhone (OS 3.1), data transfer has to be done over TCP/IP or some other “frickel-ware” tricks (Audio, Display and Camera, other BT-profiles, …).

So I have to put some energy in the field of embedded wireless webservers, TCP/IP protocol, debugging connections, snif packets, make connections from iPhone to an embedded (web)server and so on.

Today I did a first test with servers. I started a Java Server on the PC and connected to that server over telnet from the Mac mini in my local LAN over WiFi. All Bytes that are received by the server are displayed in the console. With the ESC Symbol transmitted from the Mac, the connection can be closed.

ToDo’s for the next months:
* The Java console should display a connection which is established by an iPhone app.
* The Server should be an embedded WiFi server -> order an embedded WiFi module.
* Get practice in Objective-C programming, continue Stanford iPhone course
* Realize the path: iPhone (Simulator) -> embedded WiFi server
* Let some LEDs blink, dependent on the orientation of the iPhone (Simulator)
* Let some LEDs blink, dependent on some buttons in the iPhone App
* Pay the developer license fee to start developing on real iPhone hardware ($100)
* Having fun and thinking about nice tools of iPhone Apps together with embedded controllers
